Hi! I’m Emily, (a different Emily), and I am a professional dancer in NYC.

Being a dancer, physical appearance and health are very important. My body is my instrument and it’s how I stay employed, so I need to take care of it. I have to eat very healthy every day to be 100% for auditions, shows, and class.

Eating healthy definitely gets a bad rep, (I mean, I get it, who actually thinks eating chicken and spinach all day sounds appealing), but I have found some tricks of the trade on how to not hate your life while eating healthy.

Everyone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day and if you didn’t already know that….k. I want share with you my absolute FAVORITE breakfast ever that I have every morning. It’s super simple, protein packed, and involves chocolate. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!

Protein Packed Chocolate Chip Blueberry Pancakes

Total Time:  15 minutes max

Batter Ingredients:

½ Large Banana

1 Tbs Flaxseed Meal

1 Tbs Chia Seeds

¼ Cup Egg Whites

1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder

Additional Ingredients:

¼ Cup Blueberries

1-2 Tbs Chocolate Chips

Start by smashing your banana with a fork in a bowl and then add the rest of you batter ingredients. Mix everything together until it resembles batter. Now stir in your blueberries and chocolate chips. Transfer the batter to a non-stick skillet and cook like a pancake. Serve with some fat free greek yogurt and coffee for a filling and delicious breakfast (or even a post workout afternoon treat)!

I hope you guys enjoy these pancakes as much as I do! Healthy eating doesn’t mean it has to be bland and boring, it just takes a bit more work. I guarantee you will soon be saying “Bye Bisquick and Hello Abs!!!”
